Bridges to Contemplative Living Discussion series based on the interspiritual wisdom of Thomas Merton
Led by Maureen McDonnell OP
Experience the wisdom of Thomas Merton with a refreshingly different eight-booklet series for small groups. These put Merton's wisdom into dialogue with other great spiritual thinkers from many traditions and with the lived experience of group participants. The process is a spiritually rich yet simple one of reflecting, listening, and sharing conversation.
Two contemplative dialogue groups will begin meeting in September in Madison:
Monday, 9/13/10, 1-2:30 PM, Blessed Sacrament Parish Center, 2116 Hollister avenue, St. Dominic Room on second floor
Tuesday, 9/14/10, 7-8:30 PM at the home of Maureen McDonnell, 1007 Edgewood Av. 53711
Both will be using Booklet 4 in the series: Discovering the Hidden Ground of Love.
New members are welcome. Booklets are not sequential so people can begin with whichever they wish. Booklets are available for $5.95 at Madison Church Supply, 820 S. Park St.
A third group will begin in early 2011, using either Booklet 1 or possibly the Lenten booklet.
Please contact Maureen at mowisdom@gmail.com or (608) 257-1259 if you have questions or wish to join one of the existing groups. You can check out the content of the series at www.mertoninstitute.org
